Cleaver’s meat products are certified carbon neutral by the Carbon Reduction Institute (CRI). We take responsibility for our footprint from our properties to shelf, offsetting our emissions through measurable and independently verified carbon credits.

New packaging innovation

RECYCLABLE PAPER-BASED TRAYS

Our new paper-based trays are made from recyclable and sustainably-sourced materials, and our packs now contain 75% less plastic than equivalent packs using plastic trays and labels.

Carbon Reduction

CONTINUALLY REDUCING OUT CARBON FOOTPRINT

At Cleaver’s we already offset our carbon emissions by buying carbon credits, and we’re working to go even further by offsetting our emissions through vegetation and soil management on our own land.

Water Management

CAREFULLY MANAGING PRECIOUS WATER

By converting open dams to tanks and installing remote water monitoring units, we have significantly cut water use, wastage and transport emissions across our network.

Renewables

HARNESSING THE POWER OF THE SUN

Across our operations we continually prioritise renewable energy to reduce our impact. How is this making a difference? On one of our properties we recently installed a 150 kW solar system, which is producing large-scale generation certificates (LGCs). We are also steadily converting our farmers’ homesteads and bore water pumps to solar electricity.

Since establishing our first family farm in 1929 in Theodore, QLD, the business has grown into a leading global food producer with a fully-integrated supply chain spanning livestock production through to retail products.
