1. WHAT IS AN AIR FRYER?

An air fryer is a cooking appliance that is similar to an oven as it can bake and roast food. Air fryers are different from an oven because its heating operates at the top of the product and it has a large fan to circulate the hot air, making the surface of the food quite crispy.

Yes you can cook steak in an air fryer. The meat will become more juicy, and with a delicious crust depending on the recipe. You can check the internal temperature of the steak with a thermometer to ensure it is cooked all the way through. You can air fry our organic, grass-fed steak and flip the steak halfway through the cook time to air fry the perfect steak.

Temperatures for Steak are as follows:

  • 52°C for rare
  • 58°C for medium rare
  • 63°C for medium
  • 66°C for medium well

CLEAVER’S ORGANIC AIR FRIED STEAK RECIPE PICK #1: CLASSIC AIR FRIED STEAK WITH CHIPS AND GREEN SALAD

This air fried steak recipe will leave your organic steak crispier and juicer than ever. This recipe is a must try with a side of air fried chips and a green salad.

The steak in the air fryer only takes a quick 10 minutes to cook depending on how well you want your steaks done and the chips take 30 minutes to crisp to perfection. The total cook time is 40 minutes. The recipe serves 2 however feel free to add as much steak to the recipe as you would like to serve more.

Ingredients:

  • 600g Cleaver’s Organic Beef Steaks
  • 500g potatoes
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp garlic granules
  • 1 tablespoon of butter, melted
  • sea salt and black pepper
  • 6-8 cups chopped romaine lettuce or mixed greens
  • 1 cucumber peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup cherry tomatoes halved
  • 1/2 small red onion thinly sliced
  • 1/3 cup kalamata olives sliced
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/3 cup red wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh oregano
  • 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice

Method:

  1. Bring your Cleaver’s steak to room temperature for around half an hour before cooking it.
  2. Rub the steaks with melted butter and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Place the steak in the air fryer basket with space between them. You don’t have to preheat the air fryer. Set the temperature to 200°C and cook the steaks for 10 minutes.
  4. Remove the steaks from the basket and cover them in foil on a plate and leave for five minutes.
  5. Whilst the steaks are resting chop the potatoes into thin chip like pieces.
  6. Put them in a large bowl with the oil, salt, pepper and garlic then mix well.
  7. Place them in the air fryer basket and cook for 30 minutes, use the number one setting.
  8. For the salad combine lettuce, cucumber, olives, tomatoes, red onion and cheese into a large bowl.
  9. Combine all the dressing ingredients into a jar, cover it and shake well. Pour over the salad and toss to combine just before serving.
  10. Serve the Cleaver’s steak with salad and chips and enjoy.

CLEAVER’S ORGANIC AIR FRIED STEAK RECIPE PICK #2: AIR FRIED ORGANIC BEEF STEAKS AND MASH POTATO WITH CORN ON A COB AND GREEN BEANS.

This is a quick, easy and delicious dinner. The beef steak takes a total cook time of 10 minutes in an air fryer and the recipe serves 4.

Ingredients:

  • 600g Cleaver’s Organic Beef Steaks
  • 6 ears of corn, trimmed
  • 600g green beans, trimmed
  • 800g potatoes
  • 40 grams butter and extra to serve
  • ⅓ cup hot milk
  • Salt and pepper

For the herb butter:

  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed or minced
  • 2 tbs chopped parsley
  • 1 tbs finely minced fresh rosemary
  • 1 tbs finely minced fresh thyme

Method:

  1. Allow the steak to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
  2. Preheat the air fryer to 205°C for the corn.
  3. For the herb butter add all the ingredients to a bowl then stir to combine.
  4. Place the herb butter onto a sheet of plastic wrap then shape it into a thick log and refrigerate until firm.
  5. For the mash potatoes peel potatoes and cut into large parts. Boil a saucepan of water and place the potatoes into it.
  6. Boil the potatoes for 20 minus or until they are very tender.
  7. Drain the potatoes well and return them to the saucepan over low heat. Make sure any remaining water evaporates.
  8. Using a potato masher, mash the potatoes. Whilst you are doing this add butter and hot milk to the potatoes.
  9. Use a wooden spoon to mash the potatoes until they are fluffy.
  10. Season them with salt, black pepper and extra butter to taste.
  11. For the corn, trim them and spray it with cooking spray, season with salt and pepper.
  12. Place the corn in the basket of the air fryer.
  13. Cook for 8-10 minutes depending on the air fryer and flip them halfway through the cooking time.
  14. Take them out of the air fryer and wrap in foil to keep warm whilst cooking the steak.
  15. Season the steak on both sides with salt and pepper. Place the steak in the air fryer and cook for 10 minutes for medium rare, 12 minutes for medium or 14 minutes for medium-well.
  16. Take the steak out and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.
  17. Whilst the steak is in the air fryer you can prepare the green beans.
  18. Place the green beans in a saucepan of boiling, salted water for 6 minutes or until just cooked.
  19. Drain the beans and set aside to serve.
  20. Serve the steak with the mashed potatoes, green beans and corn and enjoy!

For a quick and easy anytime dinner recipe, try this. The time to cook the steak is 10-18 minutes depending on how well you want your steaks air fried. The recipe serves 6 so if you are cooking for 2 – leftovers for lunch!

Ingredients:

  • 2 packets x Cleaver’s Organic Beef Steak
  • 3 cups baby spinach leaves
  • 3 balls of fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
  • 2 large Sweet potatoes
  • 2 punnets of cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons chopped fresh basil
  • 1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 5 tbs extra-virgin olive oil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • Butter to taste

Method:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C for the sweet potatoes.
  2. Peel the sweet potatoes and slice them into chips. Try to make sure they are the same size to ensure the chips cook consistently in the air fryer.
  3. Place the chips into a bowl and pour oil over them and ensure all of them are covered in oil.
  4. Place the chips in the air fryer and cook for 15 minutes. Check in at 7 minutes and flip them. When cooked take them out and place in a bowl and wrap in foil to keep warm.
  5. Set the air fryer to 205°C for the steak. Place the steak in the air fryer for 10-18 minutes depending on how well done you want your steak cooked. If they don’t all fit you can do this in batches. Flipping halfway through. If you want your steaks to be cooked more leave them in for an extra 5 minutes.
  6. Whilst the air fryer is cooking the steak, for the salad spread the spinach out on a serving plate.
  7. Cut the cherry tomatoes in half and place them on top of the spinach.
  8. Top the salad with the slices of fresh mozzarella. Put the basil over the salad and sprinkle with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
  9. Take the steak out of the air fryer and place into a serving platter. Add a touch of butter to the top of the steaks, cover them with foil and allow them to rest for 5 minutes.
  10. Serve the steak with the sweet potato fries and the caprese salad and enjoy, add sauces depending on what you like!
